The Maine Association of Public Service Retirees (MAR)

YOUR NEXT STEP AFTER RETIREMENT

MAR is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization incorporated on August 12, 1980. Our mission is to improve the health, welfare and financial security of retired public service employees, and to protect and enhance their retirement benefits.

MAR is a valuable resource representing thousands of public service retirees. Our diverse Board of Directors are MAR members who understand the wide-ranging issues facing retirees. They work diligently on your behalf with both State and Federal government institutes.

MAR services include:

  • Legislative advocacy;
  • Address retiree health, Rx, dental and vision insurance inquiries;
  • Provide comprehensive group dental and vision insurance plans;
  • FREE technology repair/services;
  • Research/referral on programs and services for older adults.
  • Offer statewide business discounts; and
  • Free Notary services, document shredding and photocopying.

MAR is an active participant with various alliances that focus on the income, health, employment, and housing needs of older adults. Our message is that public service retirees are an important resource who have much to offer to society. To learn more Click Here.

Our membership fee is $3.00 monthly taken automatically from your MainePERS pension. Fees paid to MAR are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. However, they may be deductible under other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. Please consult your tax accountant.
